About Kara

I always wanted to make a difference in the lives of people.

I earned a BA in Organizational Communications geared toward Human Resource Management. Unfortunately, jobs were scarce with the country in a recession when I graduated. I received an offer to recruit for a university admissions department, saw an opportunity to help people find their path and began a 20-year career in higher education with 15 of those years in Human Resource Management.

Embracing new opportunities necessitated moving hundreds of miles and adjusting to several new cities along the way (Knoxville, Atlanta, Charlotte, Hilton Head Island, and Palm Beach Shores).  Being curious through these transitions allowed for my personal growth, building amazing friendships, and a way to continue helping people through organizational development with executives, managers, staff and faculty. I was able to educate and empower others through strengthening leadership, staff and faculty and ultimately the entire organization.

Working with and serving on executive committees, managing multi-million-dollar budgets and solving fast-moving issues were important aspects of my positions. Collaborating with colleagues and coaching all organizational levels through ever-changing scenarios earned me recognition and promotions, but my desire to improve things for people continued to drive me. Teaching staff how to hire for culture as well as skill, developing staff at all levels and creating policies and procedures which continue to help people while supporting the organizations vision were the accomplishments of which I am most proud.

My next move was personal not professional. I met my husband and after dating long-distance for over a year, I decided to leave a job and city I loved to relocate on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina where he owns a business. Over the next eight years, we both experienced personal and professional growth, which lead us to follow our heart and passions and move to Palm Beach Shores, FL. We are so happy and blessed to live in this small, beautiful community that transcends time. The ocean and its breezes are calming, and healing and I remain in awe of its power and beauty as I walk along the beach and through the community, swim in the clear blue waters or curl up with a book.

In recent years, the lingering sadness over the death of my father and the devastation of my Hilton Head Island community by Hurricane Matthew triggered a desire in me to help people on a more personal level.

What do you know? I discovered the caring and compassion profession of coaching. What an honor for clients to open their lives and allow me to observe their discovery of ideas, possibilities, potential, passion and success! It is amazing to help each other open our hearts and minds to what life has waiting!

Your next step awaits.
